You leave 3,000 euros at the rental desk. Nobody can tell you where that money sits, whether it will be touched, or when you will get it back. SafeYield replaces that leap of faith with a deposit that is actually held by a trusted third party, tracked in real time, and earns a return while it is locked.
What equipment renters and rental companies live with today
The deposit protects nobody properly.
The renter does not know if or when the money will move. The rental company holds funds it may struggle to justify keeping, or to give back cleanly. Both sides rely on trust with no mechanism behind it.
The money disappears from view.
No enforceable receipt, no tracking, no committed return date. Most disputes are not about damage: they are about what was handed over, and when.
Zero return, for everyone.
On 3,000 euros locked for twelve months, nothing happens. The money works neither for the renter nor for the rental company.
What SafeYield changes
The renter places the deposit with SafeYield, not at the counter. The funds are segregated and held in Europe: they sit on neither the rental company’s balance sheet nor ours. Both parties can see the amount, the deposit date and the return generated, at any moment. The yield is variable and not guaranteed, indexed to prevailing money-market rates.
Nothing is released without the agreement of both parties. If you disagree, we open a space for mediation to help you reach an agreement. We never decide in your place: if agreement stays impossible, it is up to a judge to rule before any funds are released.
For the rental company it is free, and it replaces a drawer full of paperwork with a dashboard. For the renter, it is the first time a deposit gives something back.

How it works, concretely
The deposit, at booking
The renter transfers the deposit to SafeYield before picking up the equipment. The rental company sees it arrive, without ever holding it.
Tracking, for the whole rental
Both parties follow the amount and the return it generates in the same dashboard, in real time.
The equipment comes back
Renter and rental company check the condition of the equipment together, as they already do today.
Release, on dual approval
Both confirm, and the deposit plus its return goes back immediately. In case of disagreement, mediation opens before anything moves.
Frequently asked questions
Does it cost the rental company anything?
No. SafeYield is free for the rental company. The service takes a commission on the return generated by the deposit, never a fee from either party.
Who earns the return on the deposit?
The return generated during the rental goes back to the depositor when the deposit is released. It is variable and not guaranteed, and both parties can watch it accrue in real time.
What happens if we disagree about damage?
Neither party can move the funds alone. We open a space for mediation to help you reach an agreement, and if agreement stays impossible, it is up to a judge to rule before any funds are released.
A deposit both sides can finally see
SafeYield holds equipment rental deposits as a trusted third party: segregated, tracked in real time, released only when renter and rental company both agree. See how SafeYield works or browse our articles on equipment rental deposits.
