Two thousand euros blocked for six months, in the hands of someone you barely know. A card hold that can expire or fail, or a transfer you may chase for weeks. SafeYield holds the vehicle deposit instead, as a trusted third party, keeps it visible to both sides, and makes it work while it is locked.
What vehicle renters and owners live with today
A card hold is not a deposit.
It blocks a sum on your card without anyone actually holding it. It expires, it fails, and it protects neither party when a serious dispute starts.
The vehicle check turns into a standoff.
A pre-existing scratch, a blurry photo, and the discussion sours. Without a third party, whoever holds the money is always right.
Six months without a return.
Two thousand euros locked for half a year produce nothing, when they could.
What SafeYield changes
The deposit is placed with SafeYield, not with the owner. It is segregated, held in Europe, visible to both parties at any moment, and it generates a return for the whole rental. The yield is variable and not guaranteed, indexed to prevailing money-market rates.
At the end of the rental, release requires the agreement of both parties. If you disagree about damage, we open a space for mediation to help you reach an agreement. We never decide in your place: if agreement stays impossible, it is up to a judge to rule before any funds are released.

How it works, concretely
The deposit, at booking
The renter transfers the deposit to SafeYield before picking up the vehicle. The owner sees it arrive, without ever holding it.
Tracking, for the whole rental
Both parties follow the amount and the return it generates in the same dashboard, in real time.
The vehicle comes back
Renter and owner check the condition of the vehicle together, as they already do today.
Release, on dual approval
Both confirm, and the deposit plus its return goes back immediately. In case of disagreement, mediation opens before anything moves.
Frequently asked questions
Is this better than a card pre-authorisation?
A pre-authorisation blocks money without protecting either side and can expire mid-rental. With SafeYield the deposit is actually held by a neutral third party, visible to both, and released only on dual approval.
Who earns the return on the deposit?
The return generated during the rental goes back to the depositor at release. It is variable and not guaranteed, and both parties can watch it accrue in real time.
What happens if we disagree about damage?
Neither party can move the funds alone. We open a space for mediation to help you reach an agreement, and if agreement stays impossible, it is up to a judge to rule before any funds are released.
