What changes for your business

No more deposit cash to manage

Deposits no longer pass through your account: kept off balance sheet, they no longer tie up your cash flow or complicate your accounting.

A trust argument for your customers

“Your deposit is held by a trusted third party, not by us” reassures customers who’ve been burned by bad experiences elsewhere, and it shows up in your conversion rate.

A managed refund process, never a standoff

If there’s damage or a disagreement over the refund, you no longer have to argue it out alone with your customer: we open a space for mediation to help you both reach an agreement. We never decide in your place: if agreement stays impossible, a judge rules.

Free for the business

SafeYield earns its revenue through a commission on the return generated by the invested funds, not by charging landlords. Integrating SafeYield into your rental flow costs you nothing.

Built for B2C rentals

Self-service bikes and scooters · event equipment renters · appliance and tool renters · furnished-housing managers. If you’re asking your customers for a deposit today, SafeYield plugs into your existing flow.

The case for professional deposits

Every deposit your business collects sits on your own account until it’s returned, a liability you have to track, reconcile and defend if a customer disputes a deduction. The UK’s own custodial deposit schemes prove the alternative is workable at scale: they hold 4.7 million deposits worth £4.9 billion, and they run at no cost to the party that would otherwise be holding the money, because the scheme is funded by the return that money generates while it’s held (TDS Group, TDS Custodial).

46,950

formal deposit disputes resolved in the UK in the twelve months to March 2025 (NRLA and TDS).

54%

of UK deposit disputes concern cleaning, the single most common cause (NRLA and TDS).

0%

of the return on customer deposits currently reaches most rental businesses that hold them themselves.

An example. A rental business holding £30,000 across its active customer deposits at any one time is currently carrying that as dead weight on its own balance sheet. With SafeYield, the same £30,000 sits in a segregated account, still fully available for refunds, but placed in short-term instruments in the meantime, with the return split between the business and its customers exactly as their own terms specify.

SafeYield is not insurance and does not guarantee a return: the yield is variable, tied to short-term money-market rates, and never presented to your customers as locked in.

Questions from businesses

Does this replace our existing terms and conditions?

No. SafeYield holds the deposit itself; the conditions under which it is returned, deducted from, or shared stay whatever your own terms already say.

How does a customer dispute get resolved?

SafeYield opens a space for mediation between you and the customer. SafeYield never decides who is right: if you cannot agree, it is up to a judge to rule, exactly as it would be today.

What happens to deposits already in progress when we sign up?

New deposits move to SafeYield from the date you switch on. Deposits already held under your current process are handled separately, on a schedule you agree with SafeYield.

Is there a setup fee?

No. SafeYield takes a commission on the return each deposit generates, not an upfront fee for using the service.
